Pink blossoms & brain stimulation

8 april 2017 - Cambridge, Verenigd Koninkrijk

Hi all,

Sorry for abandoning you for quite a while! I'll try to update you on my life here within the next several blogs (which I will write now and they only 'publish' in episodes to keep the audience interested).

Soooo, we will start with an update on my life in Cambridge. The weather has become more and more pleasant! All the trees are finally turning green and most of them are beautifully blossoming in pink. It is truly a lovely sight. You can also smell the flowers and the grass, something I haven't experienced much while living in Amsterdam for the past 3,5 years. Temperatures are rising too, but as the mornings are still quite cold I have to dress and undress all the time to either not freeze to death or die of an heatstroke.. Coming Sunday is predicted to be around 21 degrees!! I've noticed I've become incredibly pale (maybe I am integrating too much at this point), so I guess my face could use some sunshine.

Cambridge students currently have their Easter/spring break, which apparently takes up to 5 weeks!! Some people go back home for the time being, so it's been a bit more quiet around here. The volleyball season has ended, all the matches are finished. My team made a final great victory (3-2) on the leading team two weeks ago, so we ended the season well. The club is now offering several more relaxed, mixed trainings and matches to keep us fit during the off-season. I haven't played for two weeks myself already and I'm really getting out of shape (apart from the dancing last weekend, which I will discuss in the next blog!). Luckily I will be able to join in on fitness tomorrow again, and on Saturday we have a volleyball tournament during the day - so we will get right back at it from now on!

This week has been so incredibly busy at the lab! finally! I have been running three experiments at the same time, in the lab until 7, 8 or almost 9 o'clock (details will be in future blog - yes I'm handling this teaser thing quite good). Tomorrow I will leave early however! Not too enjoy the sun but to have my brain stimulated by some crazy neuroscience person, so that's gone be exciting haha!

I might have not spoken to many of you guys recently (sorry about that) but I hope to have more time to call, Skype, FaceTime, etc.!

Coming up are an update on my weekend to London and my work at the lab!

Much love !!

See hou eind april!!!!! Xxxx
