Last week

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I wrote, sorry. The time just flew by so incredibly fast.. This is already my final week in Cambridge.

A couple of weeks ago, I went on holiday to Gran Canaria with my team, which was so much fun. We went to the beach, played beach volleyball (with great action pictures thanks to Jerome), had the most amazing paella for lunch made by Ana's grandmother, went out for the club, and had wine at the beach and underneath the stars. I am so happy that I joined in! I'm really glad that the girls made me feel so welcome to the team from the start and invited me to come along!

Nearing the end of my stay in Cambridge, of course means the end of my internship. I have been extremely busy finished up the experiments, and writing down everything I've done for the last six months. I just got the feedback on my second draft back, and I will hand in my final version this Wednesday. The final presentation will be on Thursday and then... everything is done in Cambridge!

Tonight I will have my very last volleyball training and as everything that I do is turning into "the last time", I start to realize I am really, seriously leaving. It is crazy how I started out here, feeling quite miserable actually for the first couple of weeks/months, and now ending up loving this place so so much..! I've learned how to make a new home, wherever that may be, and learned that every place has it's own charm ~ oké, except some places.. they will always remain shit holes.. I will return to Amsterdam for sure, but I've become more open, and excited even, to make other cities my home too.

Cambridge will forever be my second home, and I will miss so many people once I go back. I hope to stay in touch with most of you and I would love to see you all again. And, of course, once I find a place in Amsterdam (hopefully soon) everyone who needs a place to crash is officially invited, haha!
